HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
Six lessons our mother taught us growing up
Six lessons our mother taught us growing up
For Mother’s Day, we reflect on six lessons #mamasaid growing up. Each of these six lessons represent the six kids in our family. Mum, thank you for the lessons you have embedded in us. We hope that our Gandys Community carry these life lessons with them in their own hearts and into their own families.
Our mum was an incredibly hard worker from starting her own business with our Dad while looking after 6 kids. She showed us what it is like to succeed, to make every day count and not count the days.
Be kind to everyone you meet. Do all the good you can to everyone you cross paths with. Our mum made sure we understood that. She made us understand that everyone is going through personal battles, whether we can see it or not.
Our parents took us out of school to travel, we learnt about different cultures, nothing was the same, from the food, routines, environment. That was a lesson in itself and that’s what drove us to start Gandys.
Times will get tough, life will get stressful but keep fighting and keep going. Get knocked down 7 times, get up 8.
Our mum taught us that being in service to others and giving back is something that is available to all of us. We volunteered in India and that inspired us to make “give back” the driving force behind Gandys. She would tell us your greatness is not what you have, it’s what you give. We built five kids campuses in our parents honour.
Take risks, get outdoors, embrace the wonderful world we live in, and explore undiscovered places where nobody else has been. Strive to be better and don’t settle for anything less than what you deserve.
