INTERNATIONAL FLIP FLOP DAY
International Flip Flop Day occurs on the third Friday of June each year, and it is an important date for Gandys. We love any excuse to wear our flip flops to work, as you can imagine! Especially this year, as we celebrate 10 years of the brand.
Our first ever product was a pair of flip flops. The business plan was born one morning after a particularly heavy festival when I woke up with “a mouth like Gandhi’s flip flop”. A quick change of spelling to avoid any legal issues and we quit our day jobs.
Flip flops is where we took a step in the right direction and we’ve expanded our travel apparel range ever since. The new range is even more sustainable; the sole is made with a recycled EVA mix and the strap is made from FSC Certified rubber.

IN MEMORY OF MUM & DAD
We have come full circle with our new range of flip flops. When we returned from Sri Lanka after enduring the tsunami, we had nothing; not even a pair of flip flops on our feet for the flight home. Now, we are designing flip flops in Sri Lanka where the first Gandys kids campus was built.
We started a company to give back and continue our parent’s legacy. As we continue to provide travel gear, we will continue to give back by providing underprivileged children with equal opportunities, and safe space to grow and develop.
