REFLECTIONS
THEY'RE ALL AROUND US...
You reflect on the past, on your achievements, the adventures you have taken and the memories you have made along the way. Whilst nature is the world’s largest mirror, reflecting the world around us for all to see. Whether through the surface of a peaceful lake, or in the rippling ocean.
The months after the Boxing Day tsunami were the hardest months of our lives. While others were reflecting on their new year’s resolutions, my siblings and I were forced to reflect on a new life without our mum and dad.

Forced to face reality and overcome adversity, Paul and I decided to travel and take time for ourselves once our new life had settled. People often ask us, ‘why is travel so important to you?’ and reflection is the answer. Travel saved us during a time of grief and self development.

When you travel, it’s just you and the world around you. Many countries have no signal or wifi, so you are forced to reflect on yourself. I went solo travelling around the world and Paul went to Australia. We knew the time apart was important for the both of us to fully reflect on our separate lives and ways of grieving.
During this time of reflection, I came to the realisation that I didn’t want our tragedy to drive my life negatively. I wasn’t going to let it stop me from working hard, from following my parents legacy.

So, next time you’re alone, somewhere abroad or simply on a daily walk, take time to pause and just reflect. Everybody faces challenges and the last few years have certainly been tough but take the time to reflect on how you can take that experience and mould it into something positive.

Rob & Paul take a moment to pay their respects & reflect on loved ones lost at a temple. This was on a trip in 2019 touring the Himalayas & visiting the Gandys Kids Campus in Nepal.
This is the inspiration behind the Reflection Collection, a reminder of the hope of inner reflection.
Whatever you discover in this time, Gandys is with you for the next step of the way… If you look hard enough the world will be looking right back at you.
