ABOUT GANDYS
FROM SURVIVAL TO SUCCESS
THIS ISN'T JUST ANOTHER CORPORATE BRAND STORY
The Gandys brothers lost their parents in the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004. In their parent’s memory, they have created Gandys, a travel-inspired fashion brand who are dedicated to doing good, by building kids campuses and giving back to other underprivileged children around the world.

PIONEERING PARENTS
1990's
In 2001, Rob and Paul's parents removed their children from school. They sold everything they had in order to allow their family to explore, learn and volunteer around the world. Continuing their parent’s legacy, the brothers continue to pioneer around the globe, heading on adventures and giving back by taking part in charitable projects.
UNIQUE UPBRINGING
1990's
Rob and Paul certainly had a unique bohemian upbringing. They learnt maths by going to the market and bartering for fruit and veg and adding up the bill for the shopping. They learnt about religion by visiting temples, mosques and churches across India and they learnt geography and history through travelling the world.
Rob and Paul’s passion for volunteering and travelling developed after they left school at any early age. The life skills they learned from home schooling enlightened them to give back as they were exposed to the inequality other children and families endured.

THE DAY THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Boxing Day 2004
7:59 AM
The deadliest Tsunami in record history takes the lives of 230,000 people in a matter of hours.
Arising from the Indian Ocean, the tsunami released as much pent-up power as several thousand atomic bombs. Devastatingly, Sri Lanka was the one of the country's worst hits. More than 30,000 people were swept away by the waves and hundreds of thousands left homeless.
Aged eight to seventeen, Rob, Paul, Mattie and Rosie made a harrowing 200km trek across the decimated country to discover what happened to the parents.
On this day Rob and Paul Forkan, and their younger siblings, were orphaned.
